Between Space

Between Space is constructed of white corrugated plastic sheets that are heated, stretched, and layered to create texture and form. Hung from the ceiling, its several flat cloud-like forms create a pathway through the length of the gallery, which is over fifty feet long.  The corrugation lines accentuate the directional flow of the overall pathway.  Overlapping holes are melted into each sheet.  Tunnels connect a path to other holes in the background.  The thin plastic strips all around the holes create a network of small paths, and build up to form the larger path structure.  Both the web-like system of tunnels and the labyrinth of intertwined paths represent the complexity of nature, encapsulated ironically within the simplified path form that runs the length of the gallery.
